MVI Lacrosse

Who: Boys and Girls in the Mounds View School District who want to make new friends, have fun and play lacrosse! 

What: Players will have 2-3 practices and 1-2 games per week depending on age level and gender.

In April and May, most teams will practice twice a week and play a couple games on Saturday or Sunday with a spring tournament in early June.  After the spring tournament we transition to weekday games and  generally one practice and one game per week with one or two summer tournaments.  Older teams may have multiple games and practices during the week.

Where:  Practice and game fields  are located in New Brighton and Shoreview. 

When: Practices will be outdoors in mid-April, weather permitting. Season lengths vary, but generally the older teams play through the end of July.

Why: Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in the Midwest! Its a great way to stay active and learn to be part of a team. There is a spot on the field for everyone willing to work hard and have fun.

 Information on each age group is listed in the table below from USLacrosse.  Please note, none of the leagues allow players to "play down" below their USLacrosse age groups,  even if the player is new to lacrosse. Contact us at mvilaxinfo@gmail.com  if you have specific eligibility questions.  

8U Program:  Birthdates: If born on or after 9/1/2015-8/31/2017  (generally Grades 1/2)

10U Program:  Birthdates:  If born on or after  9/1/2013 - 8/31/2015 (generally Grades 3/4)

12U Program:  Birthdates: If born on or after  9/1/2011- 8/31/2013  (generally Grades 5/6)

14U Program:  Birthdates: If born on or after  9/1/2009 - 8/31/2011 (generally Grades 7/8)
